The art of turning coffee beans into powder is and ancient one. using a pestle and mortar, the Arabs were first to try. in the 13th century, the turks invented a hand-operated grinder similar to those used in more recent times. this evolved into the classic pre-war grinder, which had a smaller drawer in which the ground coffee was collected. Today, large -scale grinding is entrusted to grinder-dispenser, whose task is not only to turn beans into powder, but also to measure the exact quantity needed for espresso machines.
